Remember one day during the lockdown, you had nothing to do but lie on the sofa, holding a phone. Your fingers kept moving on the screen aimlessly. All the new updates on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter had been viewed. After locking and unlocking your screen, again and again, you finally put down the phone, gazing the ceiling and said, ‘I am so bored…’.
At present, modern technology enables us to pass time by various methods. However, the more we fill our world with fast-moving, high-intensity, ever-changing stimulation, the more we get used to that and the less tolerant we become of lower levels. After boredom reaching a tipping point, we started asking ourselves ‘What is boredom? What can we do?’.
In this work, all the group members show their own experience and understanding of boredom. From different perspectives, this project takes the viewer into some ordinary and absurd scenes, which will make the viewer think about the nature of boredom.
These ordinary and absurd scenes remind us that boredom becomes conducive to creative thoughts. In fact, it is boredom that triggers our curiosity to make changes and develop a reflective nature.
