My roommate and I were both infected with the coronavirus and isolated at home respectively. The interesting phenomenon is that as two independent individuals, we have been in the same space but haven’t seen each other for a long time. Therefore, I began to think about what is our intersection？
I used a small device to show that the state of the two of us was like two balls, connected by a data line/charging line in different confined Spaces. The charging cable represents our virtual communication that energizes each other and blocks physical contact during the pandemic.
The project explores the impact of the pandemic on people’s communication and living conditions, as well as the relationship between isolation (physical interruption) and spatial overlap.
